“High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story” revolves around the life of one of the best known Poker as well as Gin player called Stu Ungar. This film is also known by the title, “Stuey”. Some of the other renowned poker characters which are portrayed in this film are Al Bernstein, Vince Van Patten and Andy Glazer. The entire film is narrated in flashback. In this film the protagonist narrates the story of his life to a stranger. Climax of the film reaches with the incident of his winning the last poker tournament of his life. He won World Poker Series for the third time just months before demise. Final scene has dramatic implications where Stu Ungar, the protagonist, leaves the Motel (where he was narrating the story) with the stranger (symbolizing death).

"Croupier" was released in the year 1998 and Clive Owen was the star of the film. Director of the film is Mike Hodges. It was released both on cinemas and television. As it was televised, Academy Awards disqualified it from nomination.
In the film, Clive Owen acted the role of an aspiring and young writer, called Jack Manfred, who was forced to take up the job of a croupier in a casino for making two ends meet. Gradually he got engrossed in his work and casino. His personal relationship with his then girlfriend touched all time low and gets involved with one of the lady gamblers (named “Jani”), who is a regular visitor of the casino he works. Jack also sees that lady outside the casino premises which is a violation of casino rules. He then makes up a plan along with Jani of heisting the casino. But at the end, even experienced professional like Jack couldn’t make the card predictions right. To know more you have to watch the film.
