Denmark shows the new model of online casino legislation

When most European countries are busy trying legal measures and other steps to avoid free trade  relating to online casinos, Denmark became the first country to offer the first welcome change. The country become one of the first European countries to open its casino market allowing free and fair competition at all levels of play, both online as well as offline.

This decision of Danes came at a right time when most countries in Europe are trying out the legal twists and loopholes to avoid EU rules on free trade. The compiled report summed up by the law and consulting firm indicated that the Danes became the foremost European country to opt for one system, which allows fair competition at different levels of casino gaming.

France is another European county that includes limited participation in the field of online gambling. France limits its online casino participation to few internet gambling games for the gaming community while Denmark became first in instituting some competitive rules for both land based and online casinos.

It is expected that the success of Denmark can lead some Scandinavian countries to achieve conformity with the EU regulations protecting the state monopolies in gambling industry at the same time.   According to the European Commission, all the member nations were directed to open the gambling markets. EU also permitted operations of the foreign casinos but it was Denmark to offer positive response to the commands of the European Commission. Now casino operators in Denmark require to apply for the state gaming license. However, as per the Union rules licensing in any other member nation is usually sufficient to start operations in all over EU.

2009 World Series of Poker Update: Poker legend Doyle Brunson to declare the final play

As the main event of the WSOP resumes tomorrow (Saturday November7), all eyes will be on the   popular poker legend Doyle Brunson. Although he is not playing at this tournament but he will be present to announce the finale of this mega poker event of the current year.

Making an official announcement, Doyles Room.com confirmed that the all time poker favorite Doyle Brunson has been cordially invited as the chief guest to announce this 40th WSOP main event. Brunson will be present to declare the “ Shuffle Up& Deal”, as the main event of the WSOP begins this Saturday.

In his note, Doyle Brunson stated that he is extremely excited to become a part of this year’s WSOP final table. It is commonly said that Brunson and the WSOP final tables are synonymous to one another. In his career of almost 50 years, he probably became one of the legendary figures of world poker to reach the final tables for the maximum number of times.

Reaching the final table of the World Series of Poker for almost 24 times, Brunson won himself about 10 bracelets. His total collection from the WSOP stood at $3 million. With career best figures playing the game of poker, there can  be no choice other than the popular Doyle Brunson himself.

The popularity of mainstream Texas Hold’em is usually attributed to none other than the poker legend- Doyle Brunson. The man who is rightly considered as the “Babe Ruth of Poker”. Doyle is often attributed for his credit in bringing the game of poker to the living rooms all over the world these days.

In the present year, he plans to build his own team as a means to promote online poker. His team “ The Brunson 10” will comprise of both elite and young poker players. This is one step of Doyle through which he aims to bridge the distance between new world poker and the old school poker.

No “Sex” in Poker Australia

No “SEX” in any gambling games in Australian Poker. Australian government has become too touchy about nudity in any poker game. Recently, a department of Australian government namely, Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification Board (OFLC) has objected and also rejected a new Poker game to be titled as “Sexy Poker“. This game is played in a WiWare platform and is the newest product of Nintendo.

Sexy Poker – what’s so obscene about it?

In the game of Sexy Poker, whenever a player wins a hand, the female opponents take off their clothes. Oops! Frankly speaking I didn’t know that! My general awareness has become so poor.

Sexy Poker game is based on the idea of Strip Poker. In strip pokers, the objects of bet are the clothes. Similarly, Sexy Poker has 6 female opponents. While you progress in this game by winning, you will see reduced clothes of your opponents.

Why is Sexy Poker banned in Australia?

Australian government has said that such nudity is a strict NO, NO in Australia. According to Australian OFLC Board, any kind of nudity shown as a part of the reward or incentive is strictly prohibited in all sorts of computer games. Board said that the current Poker called “Sexy Poker” doesn’t comply with the highest classification norms for games viewing, i.e. MA15+ in Australia.

Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification Board statement:

In the Board’s view Sexy Poker offers depictions of nudity as an incentive or reward to interactive game play. In the Board’s view, the general rule in the Guidelines for the Classification of Films and Computer Games prohibiting depictions of nudity as an incentive or reward, applies to the game play described above, as the player is shown increasingly detailed amounts of nudity following successful game-play

In the view of the Board, the impact of the game exceeds strong as except in material restricted to adults, nudity and sexual activity must not be related to incentives or rewards. As such the game cannot be accommodated in a MA15+ classification.

What is the status of Sexy Poker in other parts of the world?

Sexy Poker has been approved by the countries of European and Nintendo, the gaming giant, is preparing itself to launch the game soon.
